I am a Victorian Soul, who lives in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion!! I just recently lost my Hubby Joe, who was a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am so glad that we retired at 62 years of age and got to spend that time together before he passed....I still do love Retirement!!!!

I DABBLE IN A BIT OF THIS AND THAT!!!!

About Me

I was an R.N. by profession for 42 years and worked for 37 years on night shift in a hospital based Physical Medicine( REHAB) unit until it was shut down in November of 2018.

I was married to Joe for 45+ years until he passed away in April of 2024, 3 weeks after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer that had spread to his liver and lymph nodes...

We have 2 amazing sons and a wonderful daughter- in -law who both live right down the road from us.

Our youngest son, Jim, is married to his long time Love, Danielle.

 They have 2 pups.......

Faye and Azumi....

In December of 2023, on my older son Joey's Birthday, our DIL gave birth to out Twin Granddaughters, Liliana Rose and Gianna Skye....

Our oldest son, Joey, is an IT specialist and works for the Diocese of Scranton....

I am so happy that both of my sons live so close to me!!!

I was raised by 2 full time working parents, both ancestors of Polish immigrants. My Husband also was raised by 2 full time working parents with ancestors of Polish and Russian descent . His maternal grand mother never learned to speak a word of English and only spoke Polish as my maternal great grand mother also did.

I have worked and made my own money since I was 12 y/o , babysitting for 4 different families! I was  the major Bread Winner for most of my married life. I recently RETIRED after Knee Replacement Surgery and I am loving it!!

I LOVE the Victorian Era and have decorated our home in that style.  I have quite a few health issues that prevent me from traveling distances. So I decided to make our little townhouse that we have owned for 45 years into the type of Bed and Breakfast that I would like to stay at while on vacation. I have done this using inherited items, flea market finds, yard sale treasures and Clearance Sale Buys! When I would come home in the morning after working all night long, I would look at my home and want to drop to my knees and Thank God I am home. My Home makes me and my family happy and after all, isn't that all that counts???

I did have a small craft business where I participated in local craft fairs. I made Victorian Style crafts and elegant floral creations. I also used to sell on Ebay. Now I just craft for myself and for family and friends...

Another one of my passions is decorating our townhouse for different Holidays, with Christmas being my absolute favorite time of year. I even have my own Christmas blog, A Debbie-Dabble Christmas.

In 2023, I had 22 Christmas trees in our home in various sizes and shapes. If it had lights on or ornaments, I counted it in the 22 trees.

I am also a cancer survivor myself and reached my 17 year mark in 2023!

Life is too short and tomorrow is promised to no one...

But "It is never to late to be what you might have been".

My blog is a reflection of what I love in life and more or less a personal journal that I hope my twin granddaughters will read one day when I am gone....

So I hope you would be so kind to follow me along my journey!

Hugs,
Debbie
