I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am LOVING Retirement!!!!

Books, Birds and Transfer Ware, Part 3!!

In today's post, I will be sharing how I decorated the area at the base of the china cupboard in my Den with Books, Birds and Transfer Ware!!

I have a small table and 2 vintage suitcases that I used for displaying items around the bottom of the china cupboard......

I have a set of 2 bird cages and I placed the larger one on the small table......

I made a bow out of Script ribbon bought at Sam's Club after Christmas one year for the top......

The bird cage has burgundy roses on it and I hung a blue and white transfer ware like ornament on the side of it......

A cute lady bear sits in a burgundy, blue and ivory plaid wing chair underneath the table......

On the top suitcase......

Some of my red and blue transfer ware collection.......

All pieces were bought at yard sales, flea markets, estate sales and thrift shops.....

The smaller bird cage sits on top of a book box.....

A wood book end bought on clearance many years ago in Kaufman's......

Tea cup and tea pot ornaments......

On the bottom suitcase which actually was my Mother's and was filled with old photos......

Ivory lace doilies.......

This was from a little calendar that I saved because I loved the blue and white tea service on the picture!!

More transfer ware........

And that is how I decorated around the bottom of the china cupboard......

This area will stay like this until the Fall......

In my next post, I will show you my Summer Tree in the Craft Room......

Decorated with roses, ice cream cones, butterflies, tea cups and tea pots, cup cakes and birds!!

Perfect for Summer!!
